Dark kitchen with a marble-look waterfall island

The project

Dark cabinets, bright stone.

This kitchen pairs charcoal flat-panel cabinets and long black bar pulls with a white, marble-look quartz with bold grey veining. The quartz does three jobs: it tops the island and the perimeter counters, it drops to the floor at the ends as waterfall panels, and it runs up the walls behind the range and sink as a full-height backsplash, so there are no grout lines to scrub.

The island seats two under a trio of black cage pendants. An undermount sink with a matte black faucet sits below the window, the range and an over-the-range microwave share the next wall, and tall cabinets frame a French-door fridge. Grey wood-look plank flooring runs through the room.
